Power Snorkel, Beach & Pool Adventure at Islands Beach Club

If you have cruised to Cozumel more than once, you already know the challenge: finding a beach day excursion that is organized, relaxed, non-pushy, and actually worth your time.

On our November 2025 cruise, we booked the Power Snorkel, Beach & Pool Adventure with Islands Beach Club — a third-party beach day operation on the north side of Cozumel — and it delivered exactly the kind of experience seasoned cruisers appreciate.

From logistics to food to staff, this was a well-oiled machine that never felt rushed.

Getting There: Easy, Fast, No Stress

Pickup was straightforward. We were met near the cruise terminal and transported by van directly to the beach club, located on the quieter north side of the island.

The ride itself was smooth and efficient, and arrival felt organized without being overbearing — a good sign of what was to come.

First Impressions: Space, Comfort, and Options

Islands Beach Club is large, open, and thoughtfully laid out. Nothing felt cramped, and there was plenty of room to spread out.

Highlights right away:

  • A full restaurant and bar

  • A large pool with a shallow shelf perfect for kids (or adults who prefer lounging)

  • Plenty of beach chairs, hammocks, and floating beds

  • Clean restrooms and showers

  • Wi-Fi throughout the property

  • Locker rentals for valuables

This was not a “grab a chair before they are gone” situation — there was space for everyone to relax comfortably.

The Power Snorkel Experience

The highlight for us was the Power Snorkel, which uses an underwater scooter to assist you as you snorkel.

On our day, the current was a bit heavy going out and honestly, that’s where the scooter earned its keep. It helped pull us along without effort, making the experience enjoyable rather than tiring.

The real fun came on the return swim. With the current at our backs, we absolutely zoomed through the water, gliding effortlessly and smiling the whole way back.

There are two distinct beach areas:

  • One side for snorkeling accessed from the dock

  • The other from a protected beach cove with direct beach entry

We also opted to purchase underwater photos, and the photographers did a great job capturing the experience without being intrusive or salesy.

Activities Galore (Without Pressure)

This is where Islands Beach Club really stands out: lots to do, zero pressure.

Available activities included:

  • Zip lining

  • Paddle boarding

  • Wave runners

  • Fish spa

  • Sea Trek

  • Electric bikes

  • Glass-bottom boat tours

  • Tequila tasting

  • Massages (which we did — and highly recommend)

The massage ladies were absolutely wonderful — professional, skilled, and genuinely kind. As a surprise touch, they even sent us home with a bottle of wine, which felt incredibly thoughtful.

Importantly, there were no pushy vendors roaming the beach. You could engage with activities at your own pace — or not at all.

Even a quick tropical downpour didn’t slow things down — the atmosphere stayed relaxed and enjoyable.

Food & Drinks: Surprisingly Good

The food deserves special mention.

We’ve had our fair share of island and beach club meals over the years, and this was genuinely good food, not “acceptable for an excursion.”

Service was attentive without hovering, drinks were consistently refreshed, and everything felt relaxed and unhurried.

VIP Area & Extra Comfort

For those wanting a more elevated experience, there is a separate VIP area offering additional privacy and upgraded amenities. Even without VIP access, though, the standard areas felt comfortable and well-managed.

Heading Back to the Ship: Five Minutes Flat

One of the most underrated parts of this excursion was how easy it was to leave.

When we were ready to go:

  1. We walked to the entrance

  2. Signed ourselves out

  3. Boarded the next available van

Total wait time: about five minutes

That’s it. No stress, no wondering if you’ll make it back to the ship on time.

Final Thoughts: Would We Return?

Absolutely — without hesitation.

Even with a brief five-minute downpour right at the end of our stay (island life!), the experience was smooth, enjoyable, and well worth the time.

Islands Beach Club struck the perfect balance between activity and relaxation, making it ideal for cruisers who want options without chaos.

If you are looking for a polished, no-pressure beach day in Cozumel with excellent staff, solid food, and thoughtful logistics, this one is an easy yes.
