Hi, I’m Mechele—founder of The Sea Seeker, travel professional-in-training, and lifelong lover of the open sea.

Before launching this platform, I spent 20 years as a paralegal, where research, detail, and strategy were my daily tools. Now, I’m applying that same precision and curiosity to my biggest passion: travel. I’m currently pursuing my Certified Travel Associate (CTA) certification through The Travel Institute, which I expect to complete by the end of this year.

Travel has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. By the time I was nine, I had already lived in four different states—and that early exposure to movement, change, and discovery sparked a lifelong curiosity for the world around me. Since then, I’ve traveled across 8 countries, 18 U.S. states, and hundreds of cities by train, plane, automobile , and cruise ship.

My journey has been shaped by a mix of big moments and quiet, meaningful ones: swimming in cenotes, biking foreign coastlines, snorkeling coral reefs, and exploring historic ruins. I’ve had the chance to experience culture in its many forms—from Mayan spa rituals to European art museums, from desert camping to riverboat dining in Paris. Travel, to me, has always been about connection—to place, to people, and to possibility.

And while I’ve loved every path I’ve taken, it’s cruising that has given me the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. I’ve spent years sailing with Carnival Cruise Line and will always love the energy and memories Carnival delivers. But as a recent empty nester in my 40s, I’ve found myself drawn to a more refined, adult-oriented cruise experience.

That shift inspired The Sea Seeker.
